Dr Ahmed Hourri is a Research Officer at the Hydrogen Research Institute since 2001. His research activities include studies of storage and security of hydrogen as an energy carrier.

He holds a M.Sc. from the City University of New York (1991) and a Ph. D. in Sciences de l’Énergie et des Matériaux from the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) in 1998.

After his Ph.D., as a recipient of a Québec-Flandres international cooperation fellowship, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Acoustic and Thermal Physics laboratory of the Physics department at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, in Leuven, Belgium.

He was a working partner on the USDOE project “System Design, Analysis, and Modeling Activities Supporting the DOE Hydrogen Storage Engineering Center of Excellence (HSECoE)“. He is also the author of the report entitled “Hydrogen Infrastructure in Québec – a business plan for deployment of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles and Hydrogen Refueling Station network development across Québec“.
